Halifax
The web site flyHalifax provides complete information on air transport, including reservations links. Porter Airlines now provides Halifax air service from Toronto's City Centre Airport, from Ottawa, as well as St. John's, Newfoundland. ASL Airlines France to and from Dublin, Ireland direct (with continuing service to Paris). Delta Airlines flies from New York City, daily; American Airlines from Philadelphia; United Airlines from Newark, N.J.; and Air Canada from London, England, Toronto, and Montreal, among other places. Condor flies from Frankfurt, Germany, and Iceland Air from Reykjavik.
For those wanting to fly and drive, Halifax International Airport lies about 3 hours north of the lodge, and has all major rental car agencies.
For the current moment, we recommend taking the route using Hwy. 101 rather than the South Shore route using Hwy 103 due to the deteriorated condition of Hwy 203 between Shelburne and Trout Point. If already travelling the South Shore, Trout Point is about 55 minutes from the Shelburne/Ohio exit off of Highway 103, the route south from Halifax. Take the road towards the Ohios.
The Lodge can be reached by car from either Shelburne or Yarmouth. The Lodge is remote, and access is by a 3-mile long dirt-and-gravel road. The Trout Point Road lies off of the East Branch Road, which is off of Highway 203. Driving Directions appear at the bottom of this page.
Yarmouth
The Yarmouth Airport (YQI) is located in beautiful Southwestern Nova Scotia, and services private and charter planes. There are 4 RNAV GNSS instrument approaches, a VHF omnidirectional range/distance measuring equipment (VOR/DME) and a non-directional beacon (NDB). The airport property has 3.16 km (1.2 mi) of easily accessible, industrial real estate.
Currently, one of their runways is closed. The one that is open is 5,000 feet long.
