1. Executive Chef
Our Executive Chef will lead the award-winning culinary team of Trout Point Lodge with passion, consistency and strong values, ensuring all areas of the kitchen are well-managed to a high standard. They will be a part of and work along side Trout Point Lodge’s Management Team. Collaborating and supporting each department ensuring the Lodge’s mission and vision are being met and exceeded. Using inspiration from nature and our surrounding area, our Head Chef is responsible for creating French inspired menus, highlighting and featuring local Nova Scotian ingredients.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Motivating leadership to ensure your team delivers the best possible culinary experience every day, providing strong leadership of the kitchen brigade at all times
- Creation and execution of daily menus (breakfast, lunch, dinner and special event menus) alternative menu (dietary restrictions, intolerances & allergies) and special guest requests
- Develop and maintain menus and ‘cookbook’ for all members of the F&B team. This should include all dishes served, recipes, descriptions of each dish, cook and fire times for each dish.
- Development of staff meals that are appealing, cost effective and healthy
- Develop and expand relationships with key suppliers
- Manages all aspects of food production
- Scheduling, ordering and inventory management to budget
- Recruitment, hiring and performance management of all kitchen staff
- Evaluate all outputs of the kitchen to ensure consistent quality standards are maintained at all times, consistency in taste and presentation are key
- Meet with guests as required and interact with them whilst dining or otherwise as appropriate

- Establish and maintain a regular maintenance schedule for all kitchen areas and equipment

- Oversees and organizes kitchen stock and ingredients with cost control in mind at all times
- Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance
- Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours ensuring mise en place is always up to standard
- Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimizes waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns
- Verifies that food storage units all meet standards and are consistently well-managed
- Coordinates with restaurant management team on supply ordering, budget, and kitchen efficiency and staffing
- Adhere to and follow all WHMIS, first aid, all health & safety standards
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years extensive knowledge and experience in fine dining, ideally in a 5-star hotel environment
- Able to multi-task, resolve problems, handle conflict and make decisions quickly and effectively
- Highly creative and resourceful, must have excellent culinary tastes and artistic flair for presentation

2. Cook
As a Cook, you will support the Executive Chef and be a key member of Trout Point Lodge’s award-winning culinary team, responsible for delivering the highest standard of culinary excellence to guests.

3. Fine Dining Server
As a Fine Dining Server, you will work with a talented team of Servers under the supervision of the Head of Food and Beverage, to deliver professional and memorable dining experiences to guests.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide impeccable dining room service to guests while maintaining the highest levels of operational efficiency
- Trained in all aspects of food service at the Lodge, including breakfast, lunch and dinner
- Explain menu options and take orders with accuracy and professionalism, assisting in selection if requested
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timeliness and accuracy of all orders
- Working in a team environment with all departments
- Ensure adherence to all dietary restrictions and special orders
- Preparation of dining room for ensuing shifts

QUALIFICATIONS
- 1-2 years relevant work experience in an F&B environment, ideally in a fine dining or upscale dining establishment
- Exceptional operational skills to ensure all aspects of service run smoothly with the highest levels of guest satisfaction
- Familiarity with fine dining and wine is a significant asset
- Understanding of restaurant operations. High-end hotel operational experience is an asset

4. Guide & Guest Service Agent*
* This is a hybrid position with responsibilities in our Guiding and Front Desk departments, and may also require cross-training in other departments such as Food & Beverage and Housekeeping.
As a Guide, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction and will play an essential role in providing guests with unique and memorable experiences and activities.
As Guest Service Agent, you act as the starting point of a memorable experience for all our guests. You will not only be greeting our guests and checking them in, you will also become a personal concierge of sorts for our guests during their stay. Assisting them with scheduling activities, dining times, valeting cars and assisting with luggage. This role also requires team members to cross trained in various departments such as Food & Beverage and Housekeeping.

5. Housekeeper / Houseman
As a Housekeeper / Houseman, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest levels of guest satisfaction and will play an essential role responding to guest requests and needs.

6. Registered Massage Therapist
The RMT provides massage and spa services to guests, and is responsible for ensuring the highest levels of guest service and satisfaction. This is a contract role running from mid May 2025 to mid November 2025. Full-time or part-time positions available. Free on-site accommodation available to qualified candidates.

- Ideally 1-3 years experience in a luxury hotel or spa environment
- Fully competent in different forms of massage
- Aesthetic treatment capabilities like facials is a plus
