About the Watercolor Monotype Workshop
What is a monotype you may ask? Monotypes are forms of printmaking that allows you to create unique, freeform printed images every time that is both fun and creative. Someone who has never painted before can created striking prints.
You will paint with watercolors onto non-porous plexiglass plates. After the paint dries on the plate the images will be transferred onto damp printing paper. The resulting prints have a luminous, watery quality. June Deveau will offer participants suggestions on various mediums that can be used after the print is dry. Monotype is the painterly printmaking process favored by artists like Edgar Degas and Michael Mazur. |
