The Great Lodge, Guest Rooms & Cottages
Canada's Secret
Hideaways:"the perfect idyllic retreat--a place to unwind, power off the
iPhone, and get back in touch with nature." National Geographic
Traveler
An architectural
master piece made from giant Eastern Spruce logs, chiseled granite and
sandstone, with full scribe notch and dovetail joinery, Trout Point's owners built
the Lodge in celebration of the Great Camps erected along the U.S. & Canadian
Eastern Seaboard in the early 20th century. This three-story structure houses
guest facilities, the Great Room, mezzanine library, dining room, kitchen,
two bars, and recreational facilities on the banks of the Tusket River. Replete
with mica and Tiffany lamps, oriental rugs, log furniture, and extensive indoor
and outdoor public areas, Trout Point is the ideal nature retreat. All spacious guest
rooms in the Great Lodge feature broad river views and full amenities.
Many have hand-cut stone fireplaces and porches or patios, as do the Great Room
and the dining venues.
Surrounded by water on three sides, the Great
Lodge houses superb guest rooms, all extremely well appointed and all
with water views: the Granite Suite, 2 Fireplace Junior Suites, the Acadian
Junior Suite, and 4 Deluxe Junior Suites (including the Treehouse, Wildwood,
& Burlwood rooms).

Each guest
accommodation has its special character.
The Fireplace
Junior Suites count among the most favored rooms: spacious, with hand
cut stone forming wood-burning fireplaces, massive log walls, leather
chairs before the fireplace, and a French door leading to a porch & sitting
area overlooking the Tusket River.
The most spacious
accommodation is the Granite Suite, with comfy sofa & armchair before a red
sandstone fireplace, black slate floors, carpets, sitting room, and ample
bathroom with an air-jet tub & hand-held shower. The Treehouse Junior Suites
have a cozy feel with their Jotul wood stoves, natural wool carpet, and
lots of windows.
