River Bend Lodge Luxury Nova Scotia Accommodations, Guest House, Country Inn

The River Bend Lodge is a large, chalet style rooming house with four double- to quadruple-occupancy bedrooms and four and a half baths. It was completed in 2002. The Lodge overlooks a beautiful portion of the Tusket River, and features a large deck, fireplace, kitchen, and spacious Great Room with fireplace and cathedral ceilings. Guests may rent either individual rooms or the entire chalet. The daily rental for up to eight persons is U.S. $365.00 (low season) and US $465 (high season), with a $60 additional charge per adult. The house can sleep up to fourteen people. River Bend also received a 4.5 star rating from Canada Select.

River Bend Lodge is part of the Trout Point complex that includes Black Bear Cottage and Trout Point Lodge. It lies on the banks of the Tusket River adjacent to the Tobeatic Wilderness, part of the Southern Nova Scotia World Biosphere Preserve. Activities include hiking, canoeing, kayaking, cross-country skiing, and river swimming. River Bend Lodge also has its own wood-fired hot tub. next to the river.

Seasonal dining is avaialble at the gourmet Dining Room of Trout Point Lodge.

Getting to Kemptville is easy by air or ferry. Bay Ferries runs The Cat between Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine and Yarmouth, May to October. There is also regular air service with most major airlines to Halifax, about a three-hour drive from the Lodge. Airlines include Air Canada, Continental, and American Airlines.
